BEHIND THE SCENES

"We believe AR technology will help everyone participate. This leads to greater understanding of the various tourist attractions, such as using AR technology in museums or ancient monuments. For example, at Ayutthaya, tourists can have better knowledge of the city, be more involved, gain better experiences, and want to continue their travels even more."
- Nithi Siprae, Deputy Governor of Digital Tourism Research and Development, The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)

“These AR virtual routes will allow users to experience the destination, even if they did not actually travel. This will not only include the physical space, but also the various people, cultures, and traditions that truly exist."
- Pakawat Korsriphitakkul, Co-Founder, Holowisp

"What is metaverse? In my view, the metaverse is like a virtual layer that everyone can experience on top of our daily lives and experiences. It is not here to replace anything but to add value to it. Imagine someday you’ll be able to go for a walk on new islands, new places in Thailand, and wear glasses that can give directions, help translate and help guide us. AR is the pathway to this future technology. So, we are glad to support Thai AR creators and artists.”
- Michael Bäk, Head of Public Policy, Facebook Thailand from Meta

“I am so excited to be part of this project. It is a great project and I am glad that Meta, TAT, and Holowisp chose people who are behind the scenes in AR production and brought them to the front and center. This is something I hope to see more in the future in Thailand.”
- Sufee Yama, AR creator/artist

“While AR and VR technologies have existed for over a decade, accessibility has been difficult in terms of both hardware and software in the past. But since Facebook or Meta pioneered new technologies, with Meta Spark for example, AR and VR became more accessible.”
- Pansavuth Khehasukcharoen, AR creator/artist

“My inspiration is challenging myself to see how I can use the various tools on the Meta Spark platform to develop new potential creations.”
- Keetapol Boonprachak, AR creator/artist

“The mobile phone is a doorway to anything, anywhere. I’ve seen the Bang-Fai (lantern), Ubon Candle, or Wax Candle festivals since I was a child. I feel that there are many details [in these festivals] that would be interesting as AR experiences, which have been gradually developing throughout the years. I plan to use these ideas to make AR interesting for users.”
- Opas Sang-ue, AR creator/artist

“I enjoy playing games and dream of developing games with others. So I became a 3D modeler because I wanted to create beautiful artwork and visuals in games. Nowadays, I use Meta Spark to create AR experiences”
- Wanisara Chompoorat, AR creator/artist
